My Home by Petra Collins

June, 2026

Penélope Archive presents My Home,
an installation by artist Petra Collins.

Originally conceived as part of fangirl (2025), Petra Collins’ first museum retrospective, My Home was one of the exhibition’s central works and is shown here courtesy of the Daelim Museum (Seoul).

Bringing together many of the themes explored throughout Collins’ practice, the piece offers an entry point into the unique visual language she has used to explore girlhood, femininity, fantasy and nostalgia throughout her career, establishing herself as one of the defining artistic voices of her generation.

Part of Penélope Archive’s ongoing curatorial program for the paloma wool window, now on view at our space on Av. Diagonal 358, 08013, Barcelona.

Petra Collins (b. Toronto, 1992) is a Canadian artist and director whose photography helped define the visual language of the 2010s. Shooting since the age of fifteen, her work is fuelled by self-discovery and a contemporary femininity that explores the complex intersection of life as a young woman online and off. Moving fluidly between the worlds of art, fashion, film and music, Collins has developed a distinctive body of work centred on themes of girlhood, fantasy, intimacy and desire.

Her publications include Discharge (2015), Babe (2015), Coming of Age (2017), OMG, I’m Being Killed (2019), Miért vagy te, ha lehetsz én is? (2020) and Fairy Tales (2021). Selected exhibitions include Discharge at Capricious 88 (New York, 2015), 24 Hour Psycho at Evergold (San Francisco, 2016), A Magazine Curated By at Art Basel Hong Kong (2017) and Pacifier at CONTACT Photography Festival (Toronto, 2018). In 2025, the Daelim Museum (Seoul) presented fangirl, her first museum retrospective.

Penélope Archive is a publishing project that reimagines iconography through artistic editions. Co-founded by artist Carlota Guerrero and researcher Mariona Valdés Torrella, it represents an act of symbolic reparation, born from a desire to expand visual narratives and challenge hegemonic representations.

The collection currently includes works by artists such as Carlijn Jacobs, Cristina BanBan, Rosalía, Suwon Lee, and Carlota Guerrero, alongside emerging artists including Athen&Nina, Julia de Ruvo, or Isabella Benshimol, and will continue to grow over time.
